Papa, I'm ashamed that you think women are so simple. We can make decisions for ourselves too, you know. I'm not a child or a baby anymore, so I'm allowed to speak my mind. And if you don't wish to hear it, just tell me so and I'll go into another room-but I'll speak it anyway. I want this for myself as much as I've never wanted the diplomatic corps and I'm going to get it-even if I have to do it alone. Excuse me. Steve Kluger
About This Quote

Although I cannot remember specific details, I do remember that my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was seven years old. My mother's health was rapidly declining and she was no longer able to take care of herself. Therefore, my father began to help out with cleaning, cooking, and other household chores. Though I still believe that the man should be the bread winner in the household, I also realize that women can do many things too.

However, it seems as though there is still a lot of sexism in this world today. Women are still not allowed to be independent. They are now expected to do what they can to take care of their families while their husbands are off to work every day.

Even though my mother had been ill for some time before my father started helping her around the house, he was still forbidden from helping her.
